waiting for Godot


Take two great actors- Ian Mckellen and Roger Rees- and they act wonderfully in what for me is a dreadful, pretentious, tedious play. The only drama was a group of sixth formers in the row before us who were attempting to unwrap toffees in a silent theatre.
The other good bit was, in one of the silences, you could hear a distinct snore from one of the back rows.
John liked it and I thought - very Beckett this, what a funny way to spend your thirtieth wedding anniversary. Even stranger than our distinctly low key wedding day which consisted of Stratford Register office and sausage and chips in a pub in Plaistow High Street.
In keeoing with tradition we had free tickets for the theatre
