Film- Planet of the Apes 2011

I just love these films but find them very disturbing.  We remained faithful to Genesis which is still only £3.50 concessions anytime and any film.
Sat there in an almost empty auditorium- Ramadan means far fewer east end asians out and about.   Just a very heavily tattooed junkie in the auditorium who kept jumping up and down- rather like Caesar  the monkey hero in fact.  Lots of meaningless chases in the film but the usual twist in then end.

'The Kings Speech'

Probably well over egged story but we found the film compelling. Only 2 people in the auditorium!

'Black Swan'

Wonderful surreal film. To repeat £3 concessions at Genesis anytime.

Both of us eating choc ices watching these lovely lithe dancers.

Film: The Social Network

This was a really great film. The telling of the story of Facebook through the court case was a stroke of brilliance. I loathed the identical twins who thought they could buy everything.
As I keep saying concessions at Genesis are very generous- £4 for all on Mondays and £3 concessions any time. This is a great cinema well worth patronising. Much better than poncy 'Rich Mix'

'Whatever Works'

This was one of the best films I have ever seen- enjoyable and witty- profound in its way and great performances -especially from Larry David. I had got tired of him on TV but love him in this

Genesis is our favourite cinema. Independent, non pretentious- cheap (concessions £3 at all times) -well worth supporting in comparison to snooty Rich Mix.

PS Don't bring your own snacks/drinks. Its forbidden but you can buy their own rather overpriced stuff there- it helps to keep the ticket prices low

Saw this at Genesis last night- terrific.
We really ought to take the micky more out of these ludicrous characters

Alice in Wonderland (film)

This was very enjoyable. Reminds me of C.S. Lewis and that world of the past, just out of reach.I liked Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen but found Alice too posh and neat to take on the jabawocky .
We enjoyed the film - £4.50 concessions-extra- because they hire the 3D glasses
Went home via Stratford and the 'International station' - a fraud of course because the trains will not stop here from Europe

My advice for this film-don't bother. Guy Ritchie is not worth the price of a ticket. 'Sex, drugs and rock and roll' much better- even the ludicrous 'Avatar'
